A branch of the Mental Health America (MHA) in Hawaii, the Maui office is made up of concerned volunteers working together to advocate for improved care and treatment of individuals with mental illness.  MHA/Maui provides community education to promote mental health and increase understanding of mental illness.  

Professional speakers are available to present a variety of mental health topics to community agencies and groups.  MHA/Maui sponsors a Children’s Mental Health poster contest for children in Maui County’s elementary schools to introduce ways of maintaining mental health to young children.  

MHA/Maui participates in community planning for needed mental health services.  “Brown Bag” lunch presentations are offered the first Tuesday of each month.  Family support groups are also available.  For information, referrals, support groups and speakers, please call 242-6461.
